Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday questioned the handling of the Bandi Sanjay case involving Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s son, Bandi Bageerath. Addressing the Way2News Conclave 2026 in Hyderabad, he said the issue raised ethical concerns and required a public response from the Union Minister.
Revanth Reddy alleged that Bandi Bageerath was accused in a case related to the alleged sexual harassment of a minor. He said Bandi Sanjay should cooperate with the investigation and respond directly to the allegations. The Chief Minister also stated that the accused should appear before the police and comply with notices issued during the probe.
“Bandi Sanjay should step up and offer an explanation. Furthermore, he needs to take his son to the police station and surrender him,” Revanth Reddy said during the conclave. He added that police would take strict action if the accused avoided the investigation process.
Bandi Sanjay case under police investigation
Revanth Reddy said he had responsibilities both as Chief Minister and Home Minister while monitoring the investigation. According to him, five police teams were currently working on the case. He stated that officers first visited Bandi Sanjay’s residence to issue notices and later went to his brother-in-law’s house.
The Chief Minister said no exemptions would apply in the investigation, regardless of political or social status. He added that the matter involved the future of children and therefore required careful handling. Revanth Reddy also said police were examining two birth certificates linked to the girl involved in the case.
He stated that the government would ensure legal punishment if the accused were found guilty in the ongoing Bandi Sanjay case investigation. Officials, however, have not announced any final findings in the matter so far.
