CS reviews Praja Palana Pragati Pranalika events in Telangana

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao reviewed arrangements for programmes under the Praja Palana Pragati Pranalika initiative during a teleconference with district collectors on Saturday. He directed officials to ensure smooth conduct of youth, sports, and tourism week celebrations scheduled from May 18 to May 23 across Telangana.

The Chief Secretary conducted the review from the Secretariat along with Special Chief Secretaries Jayesh Ranjan and Vani Prasad. During the meeting, he said the government launched the programmes to encourage sportsmanship, fitness, social awareness, and employment opportunities among youth.

Ramakrishna Rao instructed district administrations to organise sports activities at state, district, and mandal levels. He also directed officials to involve public representatives, sportspersons, and youth organisations in all events planned under the initiative.

The Chief Secretary announced that the government would organise a 5K Run under the “Fit Telangana” theme on May 18 at state and district headquarters. He also instructed officials to conduct walkathons, yoga sessions, and awareness programmes in mandal centres.

According to him, the celebrations would help promote Telangana’s tourism potential and create awareness about tourist destinations across the State. He also announced free entry to all state-run museums during the week-long celebrations.

During the teleconference, Ramakrishna Rao also reviewed ongoing grain procurement operations in districts. He instructed collectors to prevent delays and ensure farmers did not face inconvenience during procurement activities.

The Chief Secretary directed officials to strictly follow instructions issued by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy regarding procurement management across Telangana. He asked district administrations to take all necessary measures for smooth operations at procurement centres.

Officials discussed arrangements related to transportation, storage, and monitoring of grain procurement during the review meeting. The Chief Secretary stressed the need for better coordination among departments to avoid disruptions.

He also directed collectors to regularly monitor field-level implementation and address complaints from farmers without delay. According to officials, the government aims to complete procurement operations efficiently while ensuring transparency at all centres.

The review meeting formed part of the government’s broader monitoring exercise for ongoing welfare, tourism, and youth engagement programmes in Telangana.
