ABHA-linked health records cross 100 crore under ABDM

New Delhi: Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission achieved a major milestone after ABHA-linked health records crossed 100 crore, strengthening India’s integrated digital healthcare ecosystem.

The National Health Authority under the Union Health Ministry said the milestone reflected rapid adoption of digital healthcare systems across government programmes, state platforms and private health technology partners.

Officials said more than 450 public and private health technology solutions integrated with the ABDM ecosystem. The system enabled secure and seamless exchange of medical records across hospitals, clinics, laboratories and healthcare providers.

ABHA functions as a unique digital health identity that allows citizens to securely access and share medical records through a consent-based mechanism. The platform supports paperless healthcare access while protecting privacy and personal health data.

The National Health Authority said the mission doubled linked records from 50 crore in February 2025 to over 100 crore within 15 months. Officials added that nearly 10 crore records were now linked every two to three months.

Uttar Pradesh emerged as the top contributor with more than 15.03 crore linked records. Andhra Pradesh followed with over 11.95 crore records, while Bihar, Rajasthan and Gujarat also recorded strong growth.

ABHA-linked health records expand digital healthcare access

Government platforms including CoWIN, PM-JAY, eHospital, eSushrut and several state health programmes contributed significantly to the growth of digital records under ABDM.

The mission also received support from private health technology partners and ABDM-enabled digital healthcare platforms across the country.

National Health Authority CEO Dr. Sunil Kumar Barnwal said the milestone reflected increasing adoption of digital health services by states, hospitals and technology partners.

He said the system placed citizens at the centre of healthcare by enabling secure and consent-based access to medical information. According to him, the platform would improve continuity of care and make healthcare services more efficient and patient-centric.

The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission uses digital systems including ABHA, Health Facility Registry, Healthcare Professionals Registry and Unified Health Interface to support interoperable healthcare services nationwide.
