New Delhi: Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said India’s youth are the country’s greatest strength and will play a central role in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. He made the remarks while addressing the MY Bharat Convention at Thyagaraj Sports Complex in New Delhi on Friday.
The event brought together more than 6,000 young participants from across the country. Students, entrepreneurs, professionals, innovators, content creators and emerging leaders attended the programme. The convention focused on youth participation in nation-building and India’s long-term development goals.
Mandaviya said nearly 65 per cent of India’s population is below the age of 35. Therefore, he described young people as the driving force behind the country’s future growth. He said the government has created opportunities for youth to excel in entrepreneurship, sports, innovation and public service.
The Minister also praised the recent Guinness World Record achieved by MY Bharat. Furthermore, he encouraged young people to participate in volunteer programmes and national development initiatives through the platform.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisions a developed India shaped by the ideas and aspirations of young citizens. According to him, India must build a confident, competitive and self-reliant society to achieve that goal.
MY Bharat Convention celebrates youth achievements
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said young Indians are prepared to take the country to greater heights through talent, determination and hard work. She added that every achievement by a young citizen strengthens India’s progress towards becoming a developed nation.
Gupta highlighted the contributions of youth in sports, entrepreneurship, arts, content creation and public service. Moreover, she said discipline, dedication and perseverance remain essential for success in any field.
Several prominent personalities participated in the convention. Actor Vikrant Massey spoke about the growth of India’s creator economy and the opportunities created through digital innovation. Entrepreneur Aman Gupta discussed government efforts to strengthen the startup ecosystem and promote entrepreneurship.
Indian cricketer Jitesh Sharma shared his experiences under the theme “Play in India, Play for India.” He encouraged young athletes to pursue excellence and contribute to India’s sporting ambitions.
The convention also honoured distinguished sportspersons for their achievements. In addition, Youth Affairs Secretary Pallavi Jain Govil highlighted the importance of sustained youth engagement in national development.
The programme concluded with the Viksit Bharat Sankalp. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to building a developed, self-reliant and inclusive India by 2047.
