BRS plans KCR bus tour and KTR padayatra ahead of polls

Hyderabad: BRS is preparing a major political outreach campaign, with a proposed KCR bus tour and a statewide padayatra by party working president K.T. Rama Rao under discussion ahead of the next Assembly elections.

The party has stepped up organisational activities since losing power in the 2023 Assembly elections. It has launched membership drives, conducted cadre training programmes and strengthened its grassroots network across Telangana. At the same time, party leaders have intensified criticism of the Congress government and its policies.

BRS plans to highlight what it describes as the Congress government’s failure to fulfil key election promises. In addition, the party intends to raise issues related to governance, welfare programmes and alleged administrative irregularities.

Senior leaders believe direct interaction with voters will help rebuild support across different sections of society. Therefore, the party is focusing on farmers, students, unemployed youth, government employees and workers from various sectors.

KCR bus tour may strengthen statewide outreach

As part of its mobilisation efforts, the BRS recently organised a farmers’ meeting in Warangal. Furthermore, the party is preparing meetings with student and youth leaders at Telangana Bhavan to expand its engagement with younger voters.

K.T. Rama Rao and senior leader T. Harish Rao have continued to target the Revanth Reddy government through public meetings, Assembly debates and social media campaigns. Meanwhile, the party has also shifted attention to political developments in the newly created corporations within the Greater Hyderabad region.

Party sources said K. Chandrashekar Rao may undertake a statewide bus tour to interact with different sections of society and gather feedback on public concerns. Additionally, discussions are underway on a possible padayatra by KTR to connect with youth, farmers, unemployed people and the urban middle class.

BRS leaders believe these initiatives will help strengthen the party’s presence across Telangana. They also expect the programmes to improve grassroots mobilisation and prepare the organisation for future electoral contests.
