Telangana to construct permanent government office buildings across state

Hyderabad: Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that the Telangana government will construct permanent government office buildings for Tahsildar, RDO and sub-registrar offices across the state.

The Minister said the Housing Corporation will execute the construction programme. He added that the initiative aims to provide transparent, efficient and citizen-friendly services.

Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy made the announcement during a review meeting with senior Revenue and Housing Department officials at the Secretariat. Revenue Secretary D.S. Lokesh Kumar, Inspector General of Stamps and Registration Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu and Housing Secretary V.P. Gowtham attended the meeting.

Permanent government office buildings to replace rented facilities

Officials reviewed the status of Tahsildar, RDO and sub-registrar offices functioning from rented buildings. They also examined offices operating from old and unsuitable structures.

The Minister said government offices should operate from their own buildings. He stated that the decision aligns with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision of establishing better public service centres.

In the first phase, the government will build permanent government office buildings for 125 Tahsildar offices and 11 RDO offices that currently lack proper infrastructure.

The Minister directed officials to submit reports on repair needs at other government offices. Meanwhile, authorities will identify suitable land and prepare a construction plan at the earliest.

All new buildings will follow a common design pattern across Telangana. Moreover, the structures will ensure easier public access. The Minister said officials will finalise the designs after discussions with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

He added that the new infrastructure will improve service delivery and reduce long-term operational expenditure.
