Hyderabad: Rahul Gandhi birthday celebrations took place across Hyderabad on Thursday as Hyderabad District Congress Committee president Syed Khalid Saifullah led a series of welfare and public service programmes.
Saifullah visited the Urban Community Health Centre at Jangammet in Falaknuma and distributed fruits to patients. He also interacted with attendants and conveyed greetings to Rahul Gandhi.
The Congress leader said Rahul Gandhi’s commitment to social justice, democratic values and public welfare continued to inspire party workers across the country.
Later, Saifullah attended the inauguration of a Model Anganwadi-cum-Crèche Centre at Arundhati Nagar in Chandrayangutta constituency. Panchayat Raj, Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka inaugurated the facility along with Principal Secretary Anita Ramachandran.
The centre operates under the SBIF Muskaan project with support from SBI Foundation and Mobile Crèches. During the visit, Seethakka inspected nutrition units, learning sections, health monitoring facilities, play areas and childcare services.
She said the centres would support working-class families, especially women employed in the unorganised sector. Moreover, she noted that safe childcare facilities would help women continue their employment without interruption.

Officials informed the gathering that five Anganwadi-cum-Crèche centres were being established in Hyderabad district under Mission Shakti. The centres are located at Balkampet-2, Arogyanagar, Chilakalaguda, ACS Nagar and Arundhati Nagar-2.
