Hyderabad: PACS oath ceremony for the newly elected governing body of Antampalli Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society was held on Thursday.
Telangana government adviser Mohammed Ali Shabbir attended the event as the chief guest. He congratulated the new governing body and wished them success in their responsibilities.
Chittedi Sudhakar Reddy took oath as the new chairman of Antampalli PACS. Other members of the new governing body also took oath and assumed their responsibilities.
Speaking at the event, Shabbir said the Congress government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had made farmer welfare a key priority. He said stronger farmers would help strengthen the rural economy.
He urged PACS to ensure timely access to crop loans, seeds, fertilisers and other farm services. He said cooperative societies should support the overall development of farmers, rather than function only as lending institutions.
Shabbir said the Congress government had introduced several programmes for farmers. These included Rythu Bharosa, crop loan waivers, free power, Rythu Bima and development of irrigation resources.
He also said the government was working to improve market facilities and rural infrastructure. He added that faster rural development remained an important goal.
PACS oath ceremony highlights farmer-focused services
The PACS oath ceremony also marked the start of the new governing body’s responsibilities at Antampalli PACS. Shabbir specially congratulated chairman Chittedi Sudhakar Reddy and urged him to uphold the trust placed in him by farmers.
He asked the new governing body to work collectively to strengthen the PACS financially. He also urged its members to provide equal services to farmers without political considerations.
Shabbir said he would support efforts to resolve farmers’ problems in Antampalli, Lakshmidevunipalli and nearby villages. He promised to take such issues to the government’s attention when required.
He said development work was moving forward across the Kamareddy constituency. The government was giving priority to rural infrastructure, roads, drinking water, education, healthcare and agriculture.
He added that the administration was focusing on public welfare and rural development. Its aim, he said, was to ensure that development benefits reached every village.
The event was attended by several Congress leaders, public representatives, cooperative society office-bearers, farmers and local residents.
Those present included library chairman Maddi Chandrakanth Reddy, TPCC general secretary Baddam Indrakaran Reddy and former DCC president Kailas Srinivas.
Congress leaders Narender Reddy and Lingareddy also attended. Antampalli sarpanch Manjula Sanjeeva Reddy and Bikkanoor Market Committee chairman Raju were present.
Other attendees included Tippapur Society chairman Bheem Reddy, Kamareddy Society chairman Goodem Srinivas Reddy and Chukkapur Lakshminarasimha Temple chairman Kamalakar Reddy.
Block Congress president Gone Srinivas, Sudarshan, councillor Motilal and SC Cell district president Bhoomani Balaraj also participated.
Tatipamula Limbadri, DCC vice-president Gampa Prasad, Praveen Reddy, Srikanth, Yadav Reddy and Kamareddy town Congress president Sandeep were also present.
Congress workers, women, farmers and residents from the surrounding villages also attended the programme.
Later, officials conducted a smart ration card distribution programme at the venue. Eligible beneficiaries received their smart ration cards during the event.
