AIPC launches Arts and Culture Domain, appoints Pallavi Nayak as national head

Hyderabad: The All India Professionals’ Congress (AIPC) launched its national Arts and Culture Domain and appointed Pallavi Nayak as its National Head, marking a new initiative aimed at bringing together artists, filmmakers, cultural practitioners and creative professionals to strengthen civic engagement through culture.

The announcement was made by AIPC National Chairman Praveen Chakravarty on 31 May 2026. The new platform seeks to create opportunities for dialogue, cultural exchange and public participation through artistic expression at a time when public discourse is becoming increasingly fragmented.

According to the organisation, the Arts and Culture Domain will serve as a dedicated platform for artists, storytellers, musicians, performers, writers, designers and cultural institutions. It aims to encourage collaboration and foster conversations around democratic values, social participation and cultural diversity.

Chakravarty said the initiative recognises the role of arts and culture in shaping society and creating spaces for constructive dialogue. He added that creative expression can help strengthen democratic values and encourage citizens to participate actively in shaping the country’s future.

Arts and Culture Domain to anchor Art for Democracy platform

As part of the initiative, the division will lead AIPC’s national platform, “Art for Democracy”. The programme aims to engage creative communities through exhibitions, performances, public campaigns, dialogues and collaborative projects focused on citizenship and democratic participation.

AIPC said Pallavi Nayak will head the initiative. The organisation described her as a Congress worker with more than 25 years of experience in design and communication. Her work has focused on using creativity, storytelling and design to build connections between people, ideas and institutions.

Speaking on her appointment, Nayak said art remains one of the most effective tools for reflection, dialogue and social transformation. She said the Art for Democracy platform would create opportunities for artists, cultural practitioners and citizens to celebrate diversity, defend democratic values and imagine a more inclusive India.

Nayak also thanked Rahul Gandhi and Praveen Chakravarty for supporting the initiative. She said she looked forward to working with creative communities across the country to strengthen the relationship between culture, citizenship and democracy.

The Arts and Culture Domain will begin its activities by building a nationwide network of creative professionals and cultural leaders committed to advancing democratic values through art, culture and storytelling.
