Hyderabad: Labour and Mines Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy on Thursday said education transforms lives and remains the strongest force for personal and social progress.
Addressing students at KLH University, the Minister said young people could reach greater heights only through hard work and discipline. Moreover, he urged students to never stop learning and to respect their parents at all times.
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy attended the inauguration of a scholarship programme as the chief guest. During a face-to-face interaction, he spoke on “Personality Development and Higher Values” and encouraged students to build strong character alongside academic success.
The Minister described the ₹100-crore scholarship initiative as a commendable step. Therefore, he advised students to fully utilise the opportunity to secure a better future.
Education transforms lives through discipline and clear goals
Reflecting on his personal journey, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said he studied at Hyderabad Public School and later completed his medical education. However, he entered politics with the goal of serving people.
He said his father inspired him to choose public life. Consequently, he advised students to move forward with a clear purpose and confidence.
The Minister said self-belief, discipline and consistent effort inevitably lead to success. At the same time, he cautioned that life presents challenges. Therefore, students should never fear difficulties.
Highlighting his work outside politics, he said Vishakha Industries operates in 12 states and provides employment to nearly 5,000 people. In addition, he recalled his active role in the Telangana statehood movement.
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said he had not initially planned a political career. Nevertheless, he worked with determination to earn a good name like his father. He reminded students that while politics is demanding, perseverance always pays.
University authorities, faculty members and a large number of students attended the programme.
