Hyderabad: State Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Exhibition Society had played a crucial role in nation-building by providing quality education through its institutions for over six decades.
Addressing the silver jubilee graduation day programme of Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Pharmacy Maha Vidyalaya at Tarnaka on Friday, the minister attended the event as the Chief Guest. He said the Exhibition Society had been delivering quality education through 20 educational institutions, thereby contributing significantly to human resource development in the country.
Uttam Kumar Reddy noted that the institution had emerged as a hub for pharmaceutical education in Telangana. He pointed out that the college had secured UGC autonomy, NBA accreditation, and NAAC A+ grade, which reflected its academic standards and commitment to excellence.
He further said Hyderabad had emerged as one of the world’s leading centres for bulk drug production. As a result, pharmacy students now had access to wide-ranging employment opportunities in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.

Exhibition Society role linked to Telangana pharma expansion
The minister said the government was working with a “Telangana Rising 2047” vision to develop Hyderabad into a global life sciences capital. He explained that the state was expanding industrial growth beyond Hyderabad through the establishment of a Green Pharma City and dedicated pharma villages in Vikarabad, Medak, and Nalgonda districts.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Life Sciences Roadmap 2030 aimed to attract investments worth ₹1 lakh crore and generate 5 lakh jobs across the state. He added that the government was focusing on advanced areas such as cell and gene therapy, mRNA vaccines, biologics, and AI-driven drug discovery.
The minister also said the state was considering setting up a dedicated life sciences university to strengthen research and innovation. Expressing confidence in the graduating class of 2025, he said these students would shape the future of Telangana’s pharmaceutical sector. He assured that the Telangana government would stand firmly with them throughout their professional journey.
