Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at an LPG refilling centre in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Kukatpally, on Tuesday night after a gas leak during refilling operations.
The fire started around 9.30 pm when LPG gas leaked while workers were refilling cylinders. Flames spread quickly inside the building, causing panic among residents in the area.
Local residents alerted emergency services immediately. Fire tenders from nearby fire stations rushed to the spot without delay. Firefighters worked continuously to bring the blaze under control. Senior fire department officials reached the site and supervised the firefighting operations.
Police cordoned off the area to prevent further risk. As a precaution, officials evacuated residents from nearby houses. Reports indicated that a few LPG cylinders exploded during the fire, which intensified the flames.
