New Delhi: GeM Foundation Day celebrations began on Friday with the launch of a commemorative logo ahead of the Government e Marketplace’s 10th Foundation Day. The event marked the start of a 10-day programme that will celebrate a decade of digital public procurement reforms.
The official logo symbolises 10 years of GeM’s journey in building a transparent, technology-driven and inclusive public procurement platform. Officials also screened a concept film highlighting the platform’s growth, major milestones and future vision.
GeM Chief Executive Officer Mihir Kumar reviewed the organisation’s progress over the past decade. He also outlined plans to strengthen innovation and improve stakeholder-focused public procurement in the coming years.
The event also featured the release of the latest edition of GeM Bharti, the organisation’s in-house Hindi magazine. In addition, GeM honoured employees for their long service and outstanding contributions.
GeM Foundation Day events to continue until August 10
As part of the GeM Foundation Day celebrations, the platform will organise a Buyer Meet on August 5 and a Seller Roundtable on August 10. The programme will conclude with the 10th Foundation Day celebrations.
GeM will also honour distinguished buyers and sellers for their contribution to strengthening the digital procurement ecosystem.
The launch of the celebrations marks the beginning of a year-long outreach programme across the country. Through events, dialogues and collaborative platforms, GeM will bring together buyers, sellers, policymakers, industry representatives and ecosystem partners. These initiatives aim to showcase the platform’s role in promoting transparent, efficient and inclusive public procurement.
