Indiramma Housing phase 2 to begin in Adilabad on June 2

Hyderabad: Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that Indiramma Housing phase 2 will begin in Adilabad on June 2. The launch will coincide with Telangana Formation Day. He said the government will finalise programme guidelines in the Cabinet meeting on May 21.

The minister made the announcement during a district-level review meeting at the Housing Corporation Head Office in Hyderabad. The meeting reviewed revenue and housing issues in the erstwhile Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts. Several ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, collectors, municipal commissioners and senior officials attended.

Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy aims to help poor families own houses. Therefore, the administration is preparing clear plans for Indiramma Housing phase 2. He stressed that implementation must remain transparent and structured.

Indiramma Housing phase 2 planning and land selection reviewed

The minister said the government will avoid errors seen in the previous double-bedroom housing programme. He noted that many 2BHK houses were built 20 to 30 kilometres away from Hyderabad. As a result, several beneficiaries did not shift due to livelihood concerns.

Therefore, he directed officials to identify suitable land within 5 to 8 kilometres of current settlements. He asked them to prepare constituency-wise proposals. In addition, he suggested using government land, slums, Bhoodan land and dilapidated housing colonies.

He instructed officials to involve elected representatives in land identification. This step will improve coordination and transparency. Moreover, he ordered a special drive to allot completed and partially completed 2BHK houses. Officials must identify beneficiaries before the end of this month.

The minister also stressed the need for basic facilities in housing colonies. He directed authorities to complete drinking water, drainage and electricity works on priority. Furthermore, he asked officials to issue sanction letters to eligible beneficiaries with house sites inside Hyderabad limits by month-end.

Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and Ministers Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar and Mohammed Azharuddin attended the meeting. Other elected representatives and senior officials also participated. The government reaffirmed its commitment to speed up Indiramma Housing phase 2 implementation across Telangana.
