Triple Win programme: Minister urges nurses to learn German for global jobs

Hyderabad: Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy urged nurses training under the Triple Win programme to master the German language for global careers. Moreover, he said Telangana youth could secure international jobs through discipline and skill development.

The minister interacted with nurses at an event organised by TOMCOM at Tourism Plaza on Tuesday. He said Germany offers strong career prospects. However, he noted that candidates must adapt to a new language, culture, and work system. Therefore, preparation remains essential.

He praised nurses for their service to patients. He said their reassurance improves recovery. In addition, he described nursing as one of the noblest professions. He extended greetings on International Nurses Day.

Triple Win programme boosts overseas opportunities

The minister said the Triple Win programme creates international employment pathways for youth. He added that this is only the beginning. Furthermore, he said more opportunities will open if the current batch performs well in Germany.

He advised trainees to focus on German communication skills. Effective communication ensures proper healthcare delivery. It also supports accurate administration of prescribed medicines. Meanwhile, he encouraged daily practice through online learning platforms.

Dr. Venkatswamy shared his personal experience in business. He said he once struggled to secure a bank loan due to language barriers. Consequently, he realised the importance of communication skills. He urged trainees to spend at least one hour daily improving their German.

He also said modern technology and social media support skill growth. Therefore, consistent effort can deliver strong results. He encouraged nurses to aim for reading books in German with confidence.

The minister said the State Government allocated special funds for TOMCOM initiatives. In addition, he said he would discuss expanding nursing colleges and increasing seats with the Chief Minister.

Labour, Employment and Training Commissioner Harichandana also addressed the gathering. She shared her own experience of learning a new language. Moreover, she urged trainees to practice German regularly and think in the language to improve fluency.

She said the government provides free language training today. Earlier, she spent personal funds to learn a foreign language. Therefore, she encouraged commitment and sincerity in training.

TOMCOM Director Kanthi Wesley informed that TOMCOM signed an agreement with Germany’s Federal Employment Agency. So far, 46 nurses completed German training. Among them, 15 received offer letters, and seven are working in Germany.

During the programme, the minister interacted online with nurses in Germany. He asked about their experiences. Furthermore, he requested them to inform the government about any challenges they face abroad.

The event highlighted the growing importance of the Triple Win programme in expanding global employment opportunities for Telangana nurses.
