Integrated sub-registrar offices project launched in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Saturday laid the foundation stone for the integrated sub-registrar offices complex at Banjara Hills and said the Telangana government is focused on improving public access to essential services while expanding housing for the urban poor.

The Minister inaugurated the project along with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Mohammad Azharuddin. Addressing the gathering, he said the government has been introducing administrative reforms to make citizen services faster, more transparent and more accessible.

Ponguleti also reiterated the government’s commitment to housing development in urban areas. He said modern Indiramma houses would be constructed within the constituencies where beneficiaries currently live. According to him, the government wants eligible families to receive housing without being relocated from their existing communities.

He said construction of one lakh houses in the CURE area would begin in the first phase. Another one lakh houses would follow in the second phase. He added that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would formally launch the programme and that the first phase is expected to be completed within a year.

New facilities to bring key services under one roof

The Minister said the new integrated sub-registrar offices complex would house registration, survey and related services in a single location. He noted that the initiative aims to reduce inconvenience for citizens and improve coordination among departments.

He said the government is upgrading 13 sub-registrar offices across the limits of three municipal corporations. These facilities are being developed on corporate lines to improve infrastructure and service standards.

According to Ponguleti, reputed private firms will undertake the construction work without placing any financial burden on the state exchequer. He said Phoenix would complete the 30,000-square-foot Banjara Hills complex within the next few months.

The facility will accommodate the SR Nagar, Banjara Hills and Golconda sub-registrar offices. It will also house the Deputy Inspector General office and the Registrar of Chits, Golconda.

The Minister said the project would improve service delivery and create additional employment and business opportunities. He also announced that officials had been directed to facilitate Namaz prayers twice a year for members of the Muslim community who have traditionally offered prayers at the site.

Banjara Hills MLA Danam Nagender chaired the programme. MP Sunil Yadav, MLC Addanki Dayakar, MLA Naveen Yadav and Stamps and Registration Department Special Secretary Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu attended the event.
