Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the government would extend full support for Vaddera community development across Telangana and push for their political representation.
Addressing a gathering in Nalgonda on Tuesday, he said the community had played a crucial role in infrastructure growth. He described its members as symbols of hard work, especially in well-digging, road laying, and construction activities.
He said he would raise the issue of representation with the Chief Minister to secure at least one nominated post for the community. Moreover, he stressed that such steps were essential for Vaddera community development.
The minister also addressed pending bills of about Rs.140 crore faced by Vaddera contractors. He said he had taken up the issue with the Chief Minister, following which the dues were cleared. As a result, contractors received significant relief.
Political push strengthens Vaddera community development efforts
He said Vaddera community development required stronger political empowerment. Therefore, he urged youth from the community to enter public life and emerge as leaders.
He noted that the community lacked representation in the Assembly. He added that he would raise the matter again with the Chief Minister before the next elections.
In addition, he announced financial support from his SDF funds for constructing a community building. He said efforts would be made to complete the project soon.
He also called for unity among members and assured them that he would remain accessible to address their concerns.
Mayor Burri Chaitanya Srinivas Reddy, MBC Chairman Jaipal, and other leaders attended the event.
