KTR criticism targets Congress government over funeral support failure

Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao on Sunday attacked the Congress government after reports emerged that family members carried a dead body on their shoulders due to the absence of transport support facilities in Telangana.

KTR said the incident exposed the weakening of basic public services under the present administration. He alleged that poor families were facing humiliation even during funeral rites because of government negligence.

According to him, the previous BRS government introduced dedicated vehicles to transport dead bodies and support economically weaker families during emergencies. He said the initiative reflected humane governance and respect for public dignity.

The BRS leader stated that the present situation had become painful for ordinary citizens. He alleged that the Congress government failed to maintain welfare systems created during the earlier administration.

KTR also questioned the priorities of the state government. He accused the administration of spending heavily on publicity campaigns, official meetings and helicopter tours while essential emergency services allegedly remained neglected.

KTR criticism questions public spending priorities

Rama Rao said public resources should first address the needs of vulnerable families instead of political image-building exercises. He alleged that the government focused more on targeting political opponents than solving civic problems.

He further said former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao governed Telangana with the objective of ensuring dignity for every poor family. According to KTR, people were now witnessing a decline in welfare support after the change in government.

The BRS leader claimed the reported incident reflected broader governance concerns rather than an isolated problem. He added that the situation disturbed many people across Telangana because it highlighted the struggles faced by poor families during emergencies.

KTR urged the government to strengthen emergency support services and ensure that such incidents do not recur. However, the Congress government has not yet issued an official response to the allegations made by the BRS leader.
