Hyderabad: The MCRHRD MoU with Harvard University will be finalised soon to provide advanced public administration training to State officials, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on Thursday.
He said experts from Harvard University in the United States will visit the Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resource Development Institute to train officers directly. Therefore, the collaboration aims to strengthen administrative capacity and governance standards across Telangana.
Addressing newly recruited Group 1 and Group 2 officers after completion of their training, the Chief Minister urged them to serve people with dedication. He reminded them that they now carry the responsibility of serving four crore citizens. Moreover, he asked them to uphold the aspirations of Telangana martyrs and maintain integrity in public service.
“You were students and unemployed before becoming officers. Now you are ready to serve four crore people. Do not forget your responsibility. Be good human beings and responsible officials,” he said.
MCRHRD MoU and recruitment reforms highlighted
The Chief Minister stated that civil servants function as the eyes and ears of the government. Hence, they must ensure efficient delivery of welfare schemes to beneficiaries. He also advised them to remember former civil servant S.R. Sankaran as a role model before assuming charge.
Criticising the previous BRS government, he said it failed to conduct Group 1 recruitment during its ten-year tenure. However, the present government conducted the examinations and fulfilled long-pending aspirations of aspirants.
He added that the government reformed the Telangana Public Service Commission by appointing reputed individuals as Chairman and members. Although the opposition challenged the results in court, the government defended the process and filled the posts. According to him, the Commission conducted the exams without paper leaks.
Out of six lakh candidates, 582 secured Group 1 positions, while 1,775 obtained Group 2 posts. Furthermore, he highlighted Telangana’s history of resistance, recalling leaders such as Komaram Bheem, Ranji Gondu, Sammakka and Saralamma.
Finally, the Chief Minister announced that the government will introduce a law to deduct 10 to 15 per cent of salaries of employees who neglect their parents.
