Minimum wage revision reviewed by Bhatti Vikramarka in Telangana

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka reviewed the minimum wage revision process in Telangana. He said the government aimed to improve workers’ living standards through a scientific approach. Moreover, he stressed that the revision would follow a structured framework.

A Cabinet sub-committee met on Monday at Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan. The panel discussed wage revision models and related policy aspects. In addition, ministers Gaddam Vivek Venkatswamy, Ponnam Prabhakar and Duddilla Sridhar Babu attended the meeting. Rajya Sabha member Vem Narender Reddy also participated.

The committee examined wage systems followed in other major states. Furthermore, officials reviewed possible impacts of the proposed Central Labour Code. The panel aimed to align state decisions with current economic conditions.

Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the government would adopt a scientific wage revision system. He said the committee analysed best practices from across the country. Therefore, it focused on practical and fair models.

Minimum wage revision to consider cost of living and worker needs

The panel discussed rising prices and increased living costs. Officials said these factors would guide the revision process. In addition, the committee supported adopting suitable wage models.

Bhatti Vikramarka said the government wanted Telangana to remain worker-friendly. Moreover, he confirmed that the administration would seek feedback from different groups before finalising the decision.

The Deputy Chief Minister added that the minimum wage revision would benefit workers in both organised and unorganised sectors. Consequently, lakhs of employees across Telangana may gain improved income security. The government will continue consultations before announcing the final framework.
