New Delhi: The Ministry of Ayush created a new Yoga world record after 4,35,831 verified viewers participated in a global YouTube Live Yoga session ahead of International Day of Yoga 2026.
The online programme featured the Common Yoga Protocol and promoted the Yoga 365 campaign. Participants included students, professionals, institutions and yoga practitioners from India and several countries.
The Ministry surpassed the previous record of 2,46,252 viewers achieved in 2024. As a result, the new milestone exceeded the earlier benchmark by 1,89,579 viewers.
Union Minister of State for Ayush Prataprao Jadhav said the achievement reflected yoga’s growing acceptance as a practice for health and well-being. He also encouraged people to adopt Yoga 365 in their daily lives.
Global participation strengthens Yoga world record campaign
Ayush Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha said the achievement represented a larger message of making yoga a lifelong practice. Moreover, he said the initiative aimed to strengthen public awareness about physical and mental wellness.
The Ministry organised the event with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga and partner organisations. Additionally, the Habuild team guided participants during the live Common Yoga Protocol session.
The achievement comes before International Day of Yoga 2026, which will be celebrated on June 21 in Kolkata under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”. The Ministry urged citizens to continue the message of Har Ghar Yoga, Har Din Yoga.
