OMCs assure normal Fuel LPG supply across Telangana

Hyderabad: Oil Marketing Companies said Fuel LPG supply across Telangana remained stable and sufficient to meet current consumer demand. Officials dismissed rumours about shortages and urged the public not to believe fake messages related to fuel and LPG availability.

The state-level coordinator for public sector OMCs said companies were closely monitoring supply conditions across Telangana. Officials added that logistics operations were being streamlined to ensure faster fuel and LPG deliveries in all districts.

According to OMC data, petrol supplies in Telangana increased by 14.2 per cent during the first fortnight of May. Diesel supplies also rose by 15.7 per cent during the same period, indicating steady demand and uninterrupted distribution.

Officials said domestic LPG bookings usually decline during the summer season. They clarified that consumers had not resorted to panic booking despite rumours circulating on social media.

So far this month, companies delivered 20.06 lakh domestic LPG cylinders across Telangana. OMC officials described the distribution pattern as normal and said supply chains remained fully operational.

Fuel LPG supply strengthened through DAC verification system

Oil Marketing Companies urged consumers to use digital booking facilities, including SMS, missed calls, IVRS services and online platforms, for LPG cylinder bookings. Officials said these systems helped speed up deliveries and improved customer convenience.

The companies also appealed to consumers to cooperate with the Delivery Authentication Code system during cylinder deliveries. The DAC mechanism uses OTP-based verification to confirm deliveries to genuine beneficiaries.

Officials said the system was introduced to prevent diversion of LPG cylinders and strengthen transparency in the supply network. Telangana has already achieved more than 95 per cent compliance under the DAC verification drive.

OMCs stated that efforts were continuing to achieve complete implementation of the authentication system across the state. They further advised consumers to rely only on official information channels for updates regarding fuel and LPG services.

Officials reiterated that fuel stocks and LPG supplies remained adequate across Telangana. They also warned against spreading rumours that could create unnecessary panic among consumers.
