New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed grief over the loss of lives in a mishap in Kolkata and announced financial assistance for the affected families through the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
The Prime Minister said the incident was saddening and assured support for those affected. He announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased victim. In addition, injured persons will receive Rs 50,000 each from the PMNRF.
Modi said the state government was working round the clock to assist those affected by the incident. He added that authorities were taking necessary steps to provide relief and support.
