Hyderabad: Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad, introduced Pulse Field Ablation technology for treating complex heart rhythm disorders. Doctors successfully performed the advanced procedure on two patients aged 31 and 84 years.
The hospital said the Medtronic Pulse Select system uses controlled electric pulses to treat abnormal heart tissue. Unlike conventional methods, it avoids heat or extreme cold. As a result, it reduces the risk of damage to nearby organs and supports quicker recovery.
The 31-year-old patient had paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and left atrial tachycardia. Doctors restored the patient’s normal heart rhythm after the procedure. They also treated an 84-year-old patient with persistent atrial fibrillation. Later, they discharged him in a stable condition after restoring his heart rhythm.
Pulse Field Ablation strengthens advanced cardiac care
Dr. M.S. Chandramouli, Senior Cardiac Electrophysiologist and Heart Failure Specialist, led the procedures with the Electrophysiology team at Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad.
Dr. Chandramouli said Pulse Field Ablation represents a major advancement in treating cardiac rhythm disorders. He said the technology offers greater precision, improved safety and faster patient recovery.
Furthermore, Yashoda Hospitals said the new technology strengthens its advanced cardiac care services. The hospital added that patients can now access one of the latest globally accepted treatment options for complex cardiac arrhythmias.
