RTC workers plight: Bandi Sanjay slams Telangana government

Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay criticised the Telangana government over the RTC workers plight and demanded immediate action on pending promises.

He made the remarks while speaking in Karimnagar on Friday. He expressed grief over the death of RTC driver Shankar Goud and said the incident reflected the hardships faced by employees.

Bandi Sanjay said the Congress had promised to merge RTC with the government during elections. However, he alleged that the assurance remained unfulfilled. He also referred to the ‘Abhayahastam’ manifesto and questioned the delay in implementing commitments.

Addressing the RTC workers plight, he said the government had completed 900 days in office but failed to deliver on key promises. He added that several assurances that were expected within 100 days were still pending.

RTC workers plight sparks criticism over delays

The Union Minister criticised the formation of committees to examine issues. He said such steps only delayed solutions instead of resolving workers’ concerns.

He urged RTC employees to remain patient and avoid extreme steps. At the same time, he said the government must take concrete measures to address their grievances.

Bandi Sanjay also questioned the government’s priorities. He alleged that funds were allocated for other purposes while workers’ welfare was neglected.

Furthermore, he accused the government of diverting funds from Telangana to other states during elections. He said this approach affected the resolution of employee issues.

The criticism over RTC workers plight comes amid ongoing concerns about labour issues and pending demands in the state transport sector.
