Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has completed a state-of-the-art SCCL Cath Lab at the Ramagundam-I Area Hospital in Godavarikhani. The facility is now ready for inauguration and will provide advanced emergency cardiac care to thousands of employees and residents in the coal belt.
The project follows the State government’s guidance to strengthen healthcare services. It also reinforces SCCL’s commitment to protecting the health of its workforce and nearby communities.
The Cath Lab has been established in Godavarikhani, where nearly 33,000 Singareni employees live. Besides serving employees and their families, the facility will also benefit retired workers and people from Peddapalli, Mancherial, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts.
SCCL Cath Lab to strengthen emergency heart care
Doctors said heart attacks require immediate treatment during the “Golden Hour,” the first hour after symptoms begin. Therefore, quick medical intervention greatly improves survival chances.
Although SCCL operates several well-equipped area hospitals, advanced cardiac intervention facilities were unavailable until now. As a result, heart attack patients had to travel to Hyderabad, Karimnagar or Warangal for specialised treatment, often losing valuable time.
Recognising this need, SCCL established the modern Cath Lab to provide immediate diagnosis and life-saving cardiac procedures closer to patients. The hospital now has the infrastructure to deliver advanced heart care without delaying treatment.
SCCL Chief Medical Officer Kiran Raj Kumar said the Godavarikhani Cath Lab would save lives by providing emergency treatment during the Golden Hour. He added that the new facility would eliminate the need to shift patients to distant cities and significantly improve survival rates across the coal belt.
