Hyderabad: Shabbir Ali distributed sewing machines to minority women and Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) cheques to eligible beneficiaries in Nizamabad on Tuesday. He said the Congress government remained committed to supporting minorities and poor families through welfare and self-employment schemes.
The Government Adviser attended two separate programmes in the district. At the Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation event held at the NAC Centre, he handed over sewing machines to eligible minority women. He said the initiative would strengthen the economic independence of women and help them earn sustainable livelihoods.
Shabbir Ali announced that the government was distributing 1,700 sewing machines in Nizamabad district at a cost of ₹1.02 crore. Out of them, 500 machines went to beneficiaries from the Nizamabad Urban constituency. According to him, the scheme would create steady income opportunities for several families.
Shabbir Ali highlights minority welfare initiatives
He said the government, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, had given priority to minority welfare. It has implemented programmes in education, employment, self-employment and skill development to improve the lives of minority communities.
Shabbir Ali urged beneficiaries to use the sewing machines effectively and expand their work into small businesses. He said successful entrepreneurs could eventually create jobs for others. Moreover, he assured that every welfare scheme would reach eligible beneficiaries through a transparent process.
Later, at the R&B Guest House, Shabbir Ali distributed CMRF cheques to eligible beneficiaries. He described the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund as a lifeline for poor families struggling with medical expenses, accidents and other emergencies.
He said the Congress government stood with people who could not afford expensive treatment. Therefore, it continued to provide timely financial assistance during difficult times. He added that the CMRF scheme had brought relief to many distressed families across the State.
A total of 42 beneficiaries from different divisions of Nizamabad town received CMRF cheques worth ₹28 lakh. Shabbir Ali assured that he would continue working to ensure every eligible applicant received assistance. He also said the government issued cheques directly to beneficiaries without middlemen, recommendations or additional charges.
Finally, he appealed to officials, public representatives and party leaders to work together so that every genuine beneficiary received government support.
Nizamabad Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta, NUDA Chairman Keshavenu, public representatives, Congress leaders and beneficiaries attended the programmes.
