Hyderabad: Vasam Venkateswar Reddy on Monday reviewed Special Intensive Revision preparedness and directed officials to accelerate voter mapping and electoral roll verification across key constituencies.
He conducted a video conference from the CEO Telangana office with Election Returning Officers and Assistant Election Returning Officers. The session covered 28 Assembly constituencies across six districts where voter mapping remained below 50%.
The districts included Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy district, Sangareddy district, Medchal–Malkajgiri district, Nizamabad district and Khammam district.
The review focused on preparedness for the upcoming Special Intensive Revision. It also covered electoral mapping, disposal of demographically similar entries and pendency of Forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8.
Special Intensive Revision preparedness targets mapping gaps
The Additional CEO directed that all eligible voters in the 2025 electoral roll be mapped with the 2002 voter list. Vasam Venkateswar instructed Booth Level Officers to conduct door-to-door visits to collect voter details and complete the mapping process quickly.
Vasam Venkateswar said Booth Level Agents should assist the exercise. He also asked officials to hold meetings with Residential Welfare Associations to improve coverage.
Further, he instructed officials to identify dead, multiple and shifted voters. Necessary action should follow as per the standard operating procedure. He also said VVIP and VIP electors must be clearly marked in the electoral roll.
Special Intensive Revision preparedness focuses on daily targets
The Additional CEO asked Assistant Election Returning Officers to speed up the mapping work. He told them to follow the action plan strictly and achieve daily targets without delay.
He emphasised that pending applications under various forms must be cleared quickly. The aim, he said, was to ensure an accurate and updated electoral roll ahead of the revision.
The Deputy CEO, STNO, project manager and other staff attended the meeting.
