Telangana cabinet meeting to review Ghose panel verdict and RTC strike

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will chair the Telangana cabinet meeting on Thursday to review the Ghose Commission verdict and the ongoing RTC strike.

The meeting will begin at 3 pm at the Secretariat. Ministers will discuss several key administrative and political issues. Among them, the Telangana cabinet meeting will examine the High Court verdict on the Justice P.C. Ghosh Commission report linked to the Kaleshwaram project.

The court had faulted the commission for issuing its report without serving notices to the accused. It also directed the state government not to act on the findings for now. In response, the cabinet will decide whether to challenge the order in the Supreme Court or consider a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities.

Meanwhile, the ongoing RTC workers’ strike will be a major agenda item. Employees have raised 32 demands, including wage revision and regularisation. The government is expected to discuss ways to resolve the issue while ensuring that public transport services continue without disruption.

Telangana cabinet meeting to decide on strike and recruitment

The cabinet will also take up proposals to fill vacancies across multiple departments. Officials may place plans for fresh recruitment notifications, which could receive approval during the meeting.

In addition, ministers will review land allocation proposals for companies planning to set up industries in the state. The government is likely to clear select proposals to boost industrial growth.

After completing sarpanch and municipal elections, the focus has now shifted to MPTC and ZPTC polls. Therefore, the Telangana cabinet meeting is expected to finalise the election schedule.

Officials said the discussions aim to address governance priorities while balancing legal, administrative, and public service concerns.
