Telangana-France tourism cooperation gets push as Jupally seeks stronger ties

Hyderabad: Telangana-France tourism cooperation received a fresh push on Monday as Tourism, Culture and Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao called for stronger cultural partnerships and deeper people-to-people exchanges to boost tourism, investment and economic growth.

The Minister made the remarks during a courtesy meeting with French Consul General Marc Lamy and Deputy Consul Pascal Loreau at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat.

Krishna Rao highlighted Telangana’s rich historical, cultural and architectural heritage. He said Hyderabad has developed into a global city while preserving its unique identity. He invited the French government, the French Embassy and tourism stakeholders to promote Hyderabad and other destinations in Telangana among French travellers.

Telangana-France tourism partnership to expand cultural exchanges

The Minister proposed expanding exchange programmes for artists, scholars, tourism professionals and cultural delegations. He also suggested forming a joint working group to identify opportunities in heritage conservation, tourism promotion and cultural collaboration. According to him, such initiatives would help build long-term institutional partnerships.

The French delegation described tourism as a major driver of economic growth, employment and international engagement. They noted that France welcomes more than 100 million international visitors every year. They also said tourism and culture play an important role in attracting global investment and strengthening people-to-people ties.

Referring to the strong India-France strategic partnership, the delegation highlighted cooperation in defence, pharmaceuticals, technology and innovation. They informed the Minister that nearly 200 French nationals currently live in Telangana. Furthermore, they expressed interest in expanding cooperation in tourism, culture and heritage conservation.

Welcoming the Minister’s proposals, the delegation assured full support in promoting Telangana, especially Hyderabad, among French travellers. Both sides expressed confidence that stronger Telangana-France tourism cooperation would deepen the longstanding friendship between India and France while creating new opportunities for mutual growth.
