Telangana Governor highlights youth role in national integration

Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla urged students participating in the Yuva Sangam programme to contribute towards national integration and strengthen cultural harmony across the country.

Governor interacted with a youth delegation from Maharashtra at the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati on May 18. The delegation, led by IISER Pune, participated in academic, cultural and experiential activities under the Yuva Sangam initiative.

Addressing the students, Shiv Pratap Shukla said youth participation remained important for nation-building. He stated that programmes such as Yuva Sangam created opportunities for students to understand different cultures, traditions and regions of India.

Further, the Governor said inter-state exchanges helped strengthen emotional bonds and mutual respect among young citizens. He encouraged delegates to promote learning, cooperation and unity after returning to their respective states.

National integration promoted through Yuva Sangam

Shiv Pratap Shukla appreciated the Yuva Sangam initiative for encouraging people-to-people connections and exposing students to India’s cultural diversity and development achievements.

During the visit, the delegation interacted with faculty members, researchers and students at IIT Tirupati. The participants also explored scientific research projects and technological advancements at the institute.

In addition, the students experienced the cultural traditions and heritage of southern India through community engagement programmes and cultural interactions.

Ministry of Education launched Yuva Sangam under the Department of Higher Education to strengthen unity, cultural harmony and emotional integration among youth. The current phase includes participants from 22 paired States and Union Territories.
