Telangana land survey to begin in selected revenue villages

Hyderabad: Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has directed officials to begin a land survey in selected revenue villages and prioritise farmers’ interests. He instructed authorities to resolve disputes and ensure secure land ownership records across the State. Additionally, officials must involve farmers throughout the survey process.

As part of the monitoring plan, Ponguleti asked tahsildars to visit villages where survey work progresses daily. Meanwhile, Revenue Divisional Officers and Additional Collectors must closely supervise the exercise. He also directed senior revenue officials to visit these villages at least once a week.

The government aims to survey every inch of land across Telangana by next year. Through this initiative, officials will help landowners secure clear ownership records and resolve disputes. Moreover, the exercise seeks to provide farmers with reliable documentation of their land.

Ponguleti said the government would provide every farmer with comprehensive land records and passbooks. These documents would serve as Aadhaar-like identity proof for land ownership. Consequently, the initiative aims to strengthen farmers’ access to secure land records.

Telangana land survey to cover selected revenue villages

Separately, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and Ranga Reddy district in-charge Minister D. Sridhar Babu reviewed revenue administration issues at the Medchal-Malkajgiri Collectorate. Their meeting covered land surveys, revenue administration, stamps and registration, and housing issues in the erstwhile Ranga Reddy district.

Addressing officials, Ponguleti described the Telangana land survey as a prestigious government initiative. He said the first phase would cover selected revenue villages in every district. Therefore, the government would take up the exercise on a fast-track basis.

However, officials must follow prescribed legal provisions while conducting surveys, he said. The Minister also called for regular field-level supervision. Under the monitoring arrangement, tahsildars must visit villages where survey work progresses daily. At the same time, senior revenue officials must inspect these villages at least once a week.
