Hyderabad: Telangana has strengthened NEET security measures ahead of the June 21 medical entrance examination. For the first time, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has engaged the Indian Air Force to transport question papers securely. The move forms part of a wider effort to ensure a safe and transparent examination process.
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao reviewed preparations through a video conference on Saturday. He directed district administrations to make foolproof arrangements. He also asked officials to ensure a smooth experience for candidates.
According to Health Principal Secretary Christina Zongthu, 72,956 candidates will appear for the examination. They will write the test at 208 centres across 24 cities in Telangana. Therefore, authorities have intensified coordination across departments.
Meanwhile, Additional Director General of Police Mahesh Bhagwat stressed the need for close coordination between police and district administrations. He instructed police teams to maintain strict security at all examination centres. He also called for continuous vigilance throughout the process.
National Testing Agency Director General Abhishek Singh said authorities had introduced stronger security protocols this year. Notably, the use of Indian Air Force aircraft will strengthen the secure movement of question papers.
