World Bank milestone triggers political exchange in Telangana

Hyderabad: World Bank milestone became the centre of a political debate after BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao said the latest World Bank report reflected Telangana’s economic progress under the previous BRS government.

Posting on X after the report was released, KTR said Telangana had crossed the upper-middle-income threshold. He described the development as a matter of pride for every citizen and said it disproved claims that the state had become financially bankrupt.

He also credited former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s leadership for the achievement. According to KTR, Telangana had transformed from a financially backward region into one of India’s wealthiest states during the BRS government’s tenure.
