Ramchander Rao demands Dharani SIT probe over land records

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Tuesday demanded a Dharani SIT probe into alleged irregularities in the Dharani and Bhu Bharati land record systems. He urged the state government to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate both platforms.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office, Ramchander Rao alleged that the Congress and BRS were trying to divert public attention from the reported land record irregularities. He claimed the political exchanges over the Kannepalli and Kaleshwaram projects were intended to shift focus away from the allegations.

He urged the government to order an independent investigation and ensure transparency in the functioning of the two land record systems. According to him, a thorough inquiry would help establish accountability and restore public confidence.

Dharani SIT probe dominates BJP’s demands

Meanwhile, Ramchander Rao said the BJP’s stand on the Kaleshwaram project was based on the findings of the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA). Therefore, he appealed to the state government to stop political confrontation and begin the repair works recommended by experts.

He also claimed that farmers should not suffer because of political disputes. Furthermore, he said the government should focus on resolving irrigation issues instead of engaging in political arguments.

Ramchander Rao also highlighted the Centre’s allocation of the Tatticherla-2 coal block to Singareni without an auction. He said the project would generate around ₹64,000 crore in revenue and create nearly 1,200 jobs.

In addition, he credited Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy for securing the allocation. He rejected the Congress party’s claim that it was responsible for the project. He questioned why the coal block was not allotted during the UPA government’s tenure if that claim was true.

Finally, Ramchander Rao thanked the Central government and Kishan Reddy for allocating the Tatticherla-2 coal block to Singareni. He said the decision would strengthen the state’s economy and create employment opportunities while supporting industrial growth.
