Deputy Mayor Sriletha Shobhan Reddy conducts Basti Bata in Tarnaka division

Hyderabad: During a Deputy Mayor Basti Bata programme on Tuesday, Greater Hyderabad Deputy Mayor Mote Sriletha Shobhan Reddy visited Vinoba Nagar, Siripur Nagar Colony and Lalapet areas under the Tarnaka division and interacted directly with residents to assess civic issues.

The Deputy Mayor held discussions with locals in Vinoba Nagar over a long-pending drainage problem that had persisted for several years. After reviewing the situation on the ground, she directed officials to take immediate steps for road development and restoration of the drainage system to prevent further inconvenience to residents.

At Siripur Nagar Colony, Sriletha Shobhan Reddy inspected the local community hall and reviewed its condition. She instructed officials to allocate funds from GHMC resources for development works. She also asked them to complete inspections quickly and make the hall functional for public meetings and social programmes.

As part of the visit, the Deputy Mayor personally inspected nala desilting and nala expansion works in the area. She stressed the need for permanent solutions to drainage-related problems and asked officials to ensure that residents did not face difficulties during the execution of works.

Deputy Mayor Basti Bata focuses on permanent civic solutions

Continuing the Deputy Mayor Basti Bata, Sriletha Shobhan Reddy said the administration would give priority to issues faced by residents and resolve them without delay. She emphasised that civic problems should not remain unattended for long periods.

The Deputy Mayor assured residents that the GHMC would closely monitor development works in the Tarnaka division. According to her, timely coordination between departments was essential to address infrastructure gaps and improve living conditions.

She also said the civic body aimed to develop Tarnaka division as a model area by ensuring better roads, effective drainage and accessible public infrastructure. Officials accompanying her were instructed to submit progress reports and maintain regular follow-up on works sanctioned during the visit.

The visit concluded with residents expressing their concerns and expectations directly to the Deputy Mayor. She reiterated that public participation played a key role in identifying problems and improving governance at the grassroots level.
