Rangareddy urea supply remains adequate, says district collector

Hyderabad: Rangareddy urea supply remained adequate across the district, District Collector C. Narayana Reddy said on Monday, assuring farmers that there was no shortage and no need for panic purchases during the ongoing agricultural season.

The Collector stated that the district administration ensured continuous urea availability by planning supplies in advance and coordinating closely with the Agriculture and Civil Supplies departments. He said all government-authorised fertiliser distribution centres in the district had sufficient stock to meet farmers’ requirements.

According to the Collector, officials monitored daily lifting and distribution to ensure farmers received fertiliser in a smooth and orderly manner. He added that the administration prioritised farmer convenience while maintaining transparency in the supply process.

The Collector urged farmers to purchase fertilisers only as per actual crop requirement and avoid unnecessary stockpiling. He said such practices would help ensure equitable access for all cultivators during peak demand periods.

He further directed officials to display stock position boards prominently at all fertiliser sale points. This, he said, would allow farmers to clearly see available quantities and prevent misinformation or rumours about shortages.

As part of enforcement, the district administration intensified inspections at fertiliser outlets. The Collector warned that officials would act firmly against black marketing, overpricing, or diversion of urea meant for agricultural use.

Monitoring intensified to prevent misuse and ensure transparency

The Collector said officials had taken advance steps to prevent supply disruptions at any stage. He instructed field-level officers to report stock positions regularly and respond immediately if demand increased in any mandal.

He emphasised that the administration would not tolerate irregularities in urea distribution. Any dealer found violating norms would face strict legal action, he said, adding that surprise checks would continue across the district.

Reassuring farmers, the Collector said Rangareddy urea supply would remain stable throughout the cropping season. He noted that the administration would arrange additional stock whenever required to avoid inconvenience to cultivators.

The Collector reiterated that farmers should not believe rumours circulating on social media or through unofficial channels. Instead, they should approach agriculture officers or authorised centres for accurate information.

He concluded by stating that the district administration remained committed to supporting farmers and safeguarding agricultural productivity. Continuous monitoring, transparent distribution, and timely intervention, he said, would ensure uninterrupted urea availability in Rangareddy district.
