KTR slams Revanth Reddy, seeks BRS support in Bhupalpally polls

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao attacked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Monday and called on voters to support his party in the Bhupalpally municipal polls.

Addressing a public rally in Bhupalpally, Rama Rao accused the Chief Minister of lowering political standards and misleading people across social groups. He urged voters to back the BRS “car” symbol, saying it alone could protect Telangana’s interests.

KTR claimed that Revanth Reddy became Chief Minister due to political luck rather than leadership. He alleged that the Chief Minister failed to focus on governance after assuming office. He also accused Revanth of acting as a broker during MLA defections in the Chandrababu Naidu period. Rama Rao further questioned Revanth’s role during the Telangana statehood movement.

KTR raises Singareni allegations in Bhupalpally municipal polls

Rama Rao alleged a ₹6,000 crore scam linked to the Singareni coal mines. He accused the Chief Minister and his relatives of conspiring to loot the state-owned company. According to him, Singareni was profitable earlier but is now running into losses under the present government.

KTR said the BRS had submitted documents related to the alleged scam to the Centre. However, he claimed that no action followed despite the evidence. He accused the Congress government of betraying Singareni workers and weakening a key public sector institution.

The BRS leader also issued a warning to certain police officers. He said they should not function as Congress agents during the polls. He warned that action would follow if innocent BRS workers were targeted.

Rama Rao criticised Congress MLAs for failing to deliver development in Bhupalpally. He recalled how a legislator sought votes emotionally in the previous election. He said voters showed sympathy, but the town saw no improvement in the last two years. He also accused the Congress of using national leaders’ names for votes and abandoning them later.
