Hyderabad: The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party said the PM chair not vacant till 2047 and criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for projecting Rahul Gandhi as the next Prime Minister.
In a press release on Tuesday, BJP State Chief Spokesperson and Media In-Charge N.V. Subash questioned the basis of the Chief Minister’s remarks. He asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued to enjoy strong public support across the country.
Subash stated that the Prime Minister’s position would not fall vacant for the next two decades. Therefore, he described the Congress projection as political posturing aimed at diverting attention from alleged non-implementation of election guarantees in Telangana.
He noted that Telangana has only 17 Lok Sabha seats. Consequently, he termed the projection of Rahul Gandhi for the top post as unrealistic and premature. Moreover, he questioned Rahul Gandhi’s leadership credentials.

The BJP leader also alleged internal dissensions within the Congress and referred to political developments in Karnataka. According to him, such issues weakened the party’s national prospects.
Turning to civic matters, Subash opposed the reported proposal to restructure the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. He claimed the move would create confusion in property registration, tax payments and civic service delivery.
Furthermore, the party demanded transparency in the utilisation of Central funds reportedly amounting to ₹650 crore for civic bodies. It also sought clarity on the Congress promise of ₹2 crore for each municipal division.
Expressing confidence ahead of the GHMC elections, Subash predicted that the BJP would register significant gains in the civic polls and the 2028 Assembly elections.
