Hyderabad Praja Palana review outlines 99-day action plan

Hyderabad: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar reviewed Hyderabad district’s 99-day action plan during the Hyderabad Praja Palana review meeting held at Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan on Friday.

Minister Mohammad Azharuddin attended the meeting along with MLAs, MLCs and MPs. The district collector, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner and the Hyderabad City Police commissioner also joined the review.

Officials discussed programmes scheduled between March 6 and June 12 across the district. They reviewed sanitation work, clearance of pending files in government offices and public health services.

The Hyderabad Praja Palana review also examined road safety measures, welfare scheme delivery and child protection programmes. Departments presented plans on anti-drug drives, education initiatives, youth activities and environmental protection.

Hyderabad Praja Palana review details phased 99-day programme

The minister said the Praja Palana Pragati Pranalika programme will run for 99 days across the state. District administrations will hold similar reviews in all regions.

From March 6 to March 15, GHMC will conduct sanitation drives across the city. Officials will also clear pending files in government departments. The city has already opened an e-waste collection centre as part of the initiative.

Between April 6 and April 11, the Health Department will conduct public health programmes. These will focus on maternal care, child healthcare and hospital services. Authorities will also implement steps to prevent communicable diseases.

From April 13 to April 18, police and transport departments will focus on road safety. Hospitals will receive up to ₹1.5 lakh to treat accident victims during the golden hour. Citizens who help shift victims to hospitals will receive the Rahaveer Award.

Officials will conduct welfare programmes for SC, ST, BC and minority communities from April 22 to April 28. Police will also run anti-drug operations between April 28 and May 2.

Departments handling agriculture, revenue and electricity will organise programmes between May 4 and May 9. Education authorities will review school issues from May 11 to May 16. The minister directed officials to reduce school dropout rates.

From May 18 to May 23, the government will organise youth and sports events under the Young India Sports Policy. Officials will also conduct job fairs during this phase.

Women’s self-help group activities will run between May 25 and May 30 through the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas.

Environmental protection programmes will take place from June 1 to June 12. Authorities will focus on pollution control, promotion of electric vehicles and reduction of plastic use. Officials will also expand steel bank usage to support a plastic-free city.

The Hyderabad Praja Palana review also examined welfare scheme delivery. Officials must ensure eligible citizens receive ration cards, fine rice and free electricity. Beneficiaries will also receive ₹500 gas cylinders and Indiramma housing support.

The minister directed officials to resolve public complaints within one week.
