Over 16 lakh farmers join PM Modi’s post-budget agriculture webinar

New Delhi: More than 16 lakh farmers and fertilizer sector representatives participated in a post-budget agriculture webinar addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conferencing.

The webinar focused on agriculture and rural transformation following the Union Budget announcements.

According to the Department of Fertilizers, nearly 16 lakh participants joined the broadcast nationwide. The audience included around 12 lakh male farmers and 4 lakh female farmers.

Farmers watched the live session through Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendras located across the country.

Moreover, the digital outreach covered all 36 states and Union Territories. The majority of participants came from the farming community.

In addition, senior representatives from 23 fertilizer companies also attended the session.

These included public sector companies such as National Fertilizers Limited and Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers. Cooperative organizations like IFFCO and KRIBHCO also joined the event.

Private sector fertilizer companies also participated in the discussion.

Post-budget agriculture webinar focuses on rural transformation

During the session, Prime Minister Modi said the Union Budget outlines a new roadmap for agricultural and rural development.

He emphasized that the government aims to increase farmers’ income and strengthen the rural economy.

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of investment in modern farming technology and rural infrastructure.

According to the Prime Minister, these investments have helped increase agricultural production in recent years.

At the same time, they have created new opportunities for farmers across the country.

He also noted a major shift in global food consumption patterns.

Today, international demand for organic and chemical-free food continues to rise due to growing health awareness.

Therefore, the Prime Minister said Indian farmers have an opportunity to expand their presence in global markets.

He added that India’s agriculture sector can benefit significantly from this trend.

Finally, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that suggestions from the webinar would support future policy decisions.

He said the inputs will help strengthen India’s agriculture sector and accelerate rural economic growth.
