BRS intensifies Governor speech criticism in Telangana Assembly

Hyderabad: BRS leaders intensified Governor speech criticism in the Telangana Assembly on Monday. They alleged that the Congress government forced the Governor to present misleading claims during the opening address of the Budget Session.

Former minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy said the speech delivered by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla did not reflect the real situation in Telangana. He spoke to reporters at the Assembly after the address. According to him, the government compelled the Governor to present claims that ignored ground realities.

Prashanth Reddy argued that the address skipped several key promises made by the Congress during the elections. In particular, he said the speech made no reference to the party’s “Six Guarantees.” He also said the address ignored what he described as “420 promises” made during the campaign.

Moreover, the BRS leader claimed the speech failed to mention the promised ₹2,500 monthly financial assistance for women. He added that farmers, unemployed youth, and other vulnerable groups were also missing from the address. As a result, he said the government avoided discussing several commitments made to voters.

BRS leaders expand Governor speech criticism over jobs and welfare claims

Prashanth Reddy also questioned the government’s claims about employment generation. The Congress government stated that it had provided 60,000 jobs. However, he claimed that only around 12,000 posts had actually been filled so far.

Meanwhile, BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy echoed similar Governor speech criticism inside the Assembly. He noted that the government was presenting its third budget after coming to power. Yet, he said the speech still did not mention the Six Guarantees.

He also referred to the government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. According to him, the promised ₹15,000 assistance for farmers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme had not been released.

Therefore, BRS leaders said they would continue raising these issues in the Assembly. They added that the party would keep pressing the government until it fulfilled the promises made to the people.
