Six Guarantees legal backing sought by KTR through private bill

Hyderabad: Six Guarantees legal backing was sought by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, who submitted a Private Member Bill in the Assembly to enforce Congress poll promises.

KTR submitted the notice to Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar during the ongoing budget session. He also forwarded the proposal to the Assembly Secretary for further processing.

He urged the Speaker to allow introduction of the Bill in the current session. According to him, the proposal carried significant public importance and required immediate consideration.

KTR said the move aimed to ensure accountability in implementing electoral promises. He stated that the legislation would bind the government to deliver the Six Guarantees through a legal framework.

He argued that statutory backing would prevent delays and dilution of commitments. Therefore, the proposal seeks to convert political assurances into enforceable obligations.
