DPIIT signs MoU with KRAFTON India to boost startups

New Delhi: The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade signed a strategic agreement with KRAFTON India Pvt. Ltd. to strengthen India’s startup ecosystem and promote innovation in emerging technology sectors.

This DPIIT MoU startups initiative aims to support entrepreneurs working in digital entertainment, online gaming, esports, interactive media and artificial intelligence. As a result, the collaboration is expected to accelerate the growth of product-based startups across the country.

DPIIT MoU startups initiative targets innovation growth

Under this partnership, startups will receive structured support through mentorship, industry insights and knowledge-sharing platforms. Moreover, the initiative will provide curated opportunities for engagement with industry leaders.

In addition, startups will gain assistance in achieving key milestones such as Proof-of-Concept (PoC) development and market access. Therefore, the programme will help early-stage ventures scale their ideas into viable business solutions.

The collaboration also focuses on integrating startups into industry ecosystems wherever feasible. Consequently, innovators will benefit from real-world exposure and practical implementation opportunities.

Focus on gaming, AI and emerging technologies

The partnership places strong emphasis on high-growth sectors like gaming, esports and AI-driven technologies. These sectors are rapidly expanding and offer significant potential for innovation and employment.

Furthermore, DPIIT and KRAFTON India plan to organise innovation challenges under the Bharat Startup Grand Challenge. They will also conduct hackathons, workshops and masterclasses across domains such as game design, animation and immersive technologies.

Because of these initiatives, startups will gain hands-on experience and exposure to global best practices. This will enable them to build competitive products for both domestic and international markets.

Strengthening India’s startup ecosystem

Officials said the collaboration marks an important step toward strengthening India’s digital and creative economy. It will also facilitate industry interactions and knowledge exchange between startups and established players.

Additionally, selected startups may receive opportunities for pilot collaborations. Based on outcomes, these engagements could lead to long-term partnerships and scaling opportunities.

The initiative will also align with Startup India programmes to expand outreach and participation. Therefore, it will contribute to building a more inclusive and dynamic innovation ecosystem.

Overall, the DPIIT MoU startups effort highlights the government’s focus on fostering innovation. By partnering with industry leaders, India aims to support entrepreneurs and position itself as a global hub for emerging technologies.
