Bhu Bharati portal rollout begins in Telangana from April 2

Hyderabad: Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that the Bhu Bharati portal rollout will begin from April 2 in five mandals, marking a major shift in Telangana’s land administration system.

The pilot phase will cover Kosgi, Amangal, Vatpally, Kusumanchi and Aswaraopeta mandals. Subsequently, the government plans to expand the system across the state after evaluating its performance.

Bhu Bharati portal rollout to replace Dharani

The new system will replace the existing Dharani portal with a unified digital platform. It integrates Survey, Stamps and Registration departments to streamline services.

As a result, citizens will experience faster and more transparent processes. Moreover, each land parcel will receive a unique ‘Bhudhar number’, similar to Aadhaar, which will simplify identification and tracking.

In addition, the platform consolidates 36 separate modules from the Dharani system into a single interface. Therefore, users can access multiple services without navigating different systems.

Citizen Dashboard to enhance accessibility

The Bhu Bharati portal includes a Citizen Dashboard designed for ease of use. Through this feature, users can access Record of Rights, mutation status, encumbrance certificates and market values.

Furthermore, the portal provides village maps, survey number maps and registration details. Because of Aadhaar-linked mobile login, users can securely access their land information anytime.

The system also introduces SMS alerts at every stage of application processing. Consequently, applicants will receive real-time updates from submission to completion.

Measures to reduce disputes and improve transparency

The minister stated that mandatory survey maps during property registration will help reduce disputes. At the same time, improved documentation and tracking will enhance accountability.

Additionally, the portal supports services such as corrections, appeals and feedback mechanisms. Therefore, it ensures a comprehensive approach to land governance.

Farmers and landowners will benefit significantly, as they can retrieve complete land details with a single click. This ease of access is expected to improve service delivery, especially in rural areas.

Statewide expansion planned

The government will review the pilot rollout before expanding it statewide. A. Revanth Reddy has emphasised that the initiative aligns with the broader vision of transparent and citizen-centric governance.

Overall, the Bhu Bharati portal rollout represents a major reform in land management. By improving efficiency, reducing disputes and enhancing transparency, the system is set to transform land services in Telangana.
