Hyderabad: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said the Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City would drive industrial growth and strengthen Telangana’s manufacturing sector ahead of its foundation launch on May 10.
He stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would lay the foundation stone for the project, which forms part of the Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor. The initiative aims to accelerate industrialisation with modern infrastructure and sector-specific development.
Officials planned the project across 3,245 acres with an estimated cost of ₹2,360.54 crore. Moreover, they expect it to attract investments exceeding ₹10,000 crore. Authorities also projected that the project could generate nearly 1.74 lakh jobs by 2029.
The Centre said the project would support multiple industries, including logistics, auto components, electronics, and food processing. As a result, it is expected to improve industrial output and regional economic activity.
Industrial hub planned with integrated infrastructure
Officials said the Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City would include advanced infrastructure with technology-driven systems. In addition, planners proposed eco-friendly and sustainable development practices to ensure long-term viability.
The project will offer plug-and-play facilities for industries. Besides manufacturing zones, it will also include residential and commercial spaces. Therefore, workers and businesses can operate within a self-sustained ecosystem.
Kishan Reddy said the project’s location along the Hyderabad–Nagpur corridor would strengthen logistics connectivity. He added that such corridor-based developments would position India as a global manufacturing hub.
Furthermore, the government aims to expand similar projects nationwide to meet rising industrial demand. Consequently, the initiative is expected to play a key role in boosting exports and employment opportunities in Telangana.
