OMCs assure normal fuel supply across Odisha

Odisha: Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) clarified that fuel supply in Odisha remained stable and adequate despite reports of temporary shortages in some districts.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the OMCs said retail outlets across Odisha had sufficient stocks of petrol and diesel. The companies added that the overall supply situation remained normal across the state.

According to the statement, a sudden rise in demand for fuel was reported in a few border districts during the first days of the month. However, the OMCs said they quickly initiated measures to restore supplies at affected outlets.

The companies deployed additional tank trucks to speed up fuel transportation and replenish stocks at retail stations. Officials also started real-time monitoring of fuel inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted distribution.

OMCs advised industrial consumers to purchase fuel directly from oil companies instead of buying from retail fuel stations. They stated that retail outlets were not authorised for bulk fuel sales.

Fuel supply Odisha monitored through coordinated measures

The OMCs said all petrol pumps and supply locations across Odisha were functioning normally. They also confirmed that adequate quantities of petrol and diesel were available throughout the state.

Officials stated that priority supply was being given to outlets reporting lower stock levels. They added that coordinated efforts were underway to prevent disruption in fuel availability.

The companies appealed to citizens not to engage in panic buying. They also urged people to rely only on official information regarding fuel availability and supply updates.

The statement came after reports of temporary fuel shortages surfaced in a few parts of Odisha earlier this week.
