TNGOs celebrate Telangana Formation Day with grand events in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Telangana Formation Day celebrations were held with great enthusiasm at the Hyderabad District TNGOs Union office on Monday, with employees, union leaders and members participating in large numbers throughout the day.

The programme began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Vikram Kumar at the union premises. Speaking on the occasion, he said Telangana became a reality because of the sacrifices of martyrs and the prolonged struggle of employees and people. He urged employees to continue serving society with the same spirit and commitment shown during the statehood movement.

Employees from different departments, district leaders and representatives of various unions attended the celebrations, which continued in a festive atmosphere from morning to evening.

Later in the day, TNGOs Central Union president Maram Jagadeeshwar attended the main event as the chief guest. A special cake prepared by Dr. S.M. Hussaini (Mujeeb) marked the occasion. Leaders and employees joined the cake-cutting ceremony and exchanged greetings.

Telangana Formation Day event highlights EHS initiative

Addressing the gathering, Maram Jagadeeshwar recalled the role played by employees in the Telangana movement and praised their dedication during the struggle for statehood. He also explained the efforts made by the union to secure the implementation of the new Employees Health Scheme (EHS).

He said the trust-based EHS model would benefit employees without placing an additional premium burden on them. According to him, the scheme reflected a major achievement for the employee community.

Jagadeeshwar also urged employees not to believe misinformation regarding the EHS programme. He said the union was suggesting improvements to strengthen the scheme and ensure better implementation. However, he cautioned employees against supporting campaigns aimed at discrediting the initiative.

Speaking at the event, Dr. S.M. Hussaini (Mujeeb) recalled the challenges faced during the second phase of the Telangana movement, particularly during the Sakala Janula Samme. He said the present generation should preserve the spirit and values that guided the movement.

Several leaders and office-bearers attended the celebrations, including Central Union Treasurer Uma, Class-IV Central Association General Secretary Khader Bin Hasan, Nagarkurnool president B. Venkatesh, Nalgonda president N. Murali, Hyderabad district secretary Kooradi Srinivas and Nalgonda district secretary Shekhar Reddy.

District executive members, central executive members, unit presidents, secretaries and a large number of primary members also participated in the programme and contributed to the success of the Telangana Formation Day celebrations.
