Hyderabad: Maharashtra Police busted an interstate drug unit operating from a farmhouse in Kohir mandal of Sangareddy district and seized mephedrone, chemicals and equipment worth an estimated ₹6.5 crore.
Acting on specific intelligence, a special team from Mumbai raided two farmhouses at Peecheryagadi Thanda under Kohir police station limits. During the operation, investigators discovered a suspected drug manufacturing facility functioning from the premises.
Police found laboratory equipment and infrastructure allegedly used to produce narcotic substances. Officers also seized around three kilograms of mephedrone and large quantities of raw materials linked to drug production.
According to investigators, the seized materials have an estimated international market value of ₹6.5 crore. Preliminary inquiries revealed that the accused had transported the chemicals and related materials from Mumbai.
The police team said the suspects chose the rural farmhouse location to avoid detection and carry out operations discreetly. Investigators believe the group manufactured drugs at the site and supplied them to Mumbai and several other cities.

During the raid, police detained three individuals allegedly involved in the manufacturing process. Authorities also seized drugs, chemicals and other equipment found at the farmhouses.
Investigators suspect the operation formed part of a wider narcotics network. Therefore, police have launched efforts to identify additional members and uncover distribution channels linked to the group.
Officials are examining technical and financial evidence to trace the supply chain. Meanwhile, further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the interstate drug unit’s activities.
