Hyderabad: Information Technology and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said the government was developing an advanced medical research ecosystem to position Hyderabad as a global biotechnology hub.
He made the announcement after inaugurating the ₹1,200-crore Theranym Biologics manufacturing facility at Borpatla village in Hatnoora mandal of Sangareddy district on Wednesday.

The Minister said Hyderabad had already established itself as India’s pharmaceutical capital. However, the government now aims to expand its global presence in biotechnology.
He noted that artificial intelligence, robotics and advanced genetics would reshape the sector in the coming years. Therefore, Telangana is taking strategic steps to attract investments and leverage emerging opportunities.
The Minister highlighted initiatives such as the Life Sciences Policy, One Bio Hub, Green Pharma City and Life Sciences Hub. According to him, these programmes will strengthen the global reputation of the “Made in Telangana” brand.
Advanced medical research to drive biotech growth
